Hey loves,
We’ve moved back to the UK.
And honestly, yay.
But I’m not going to romanticise it in the slightest...
The start of this year has been hard!
Flying back. Multiple illnesses. The stress of moving countries. Sorting a new house. And that strange post Christmas limbo that just would not end. January felt like a cocktail of excitement, exhaustion and being slightly knocked sideways by life.
If you’ve felt behind this year, flat, unmotivated or like your nervous system just couldn’t get online, you’re not alone. I’ve been right there with you.
But today feels different.
Today feels like the actual start.
I went for a run this morning. Nothing dramatic. Just enough to feel my body again. I’m getting YouTube back up and running after a little break. There genuinely was no filming to be done with boxes, boxes, boxes in either house and forcing it would’ve only added more stress. But the plans we made over the festive period are starting to feel alive again.
February feels like my real New Year.
Which brings me to some promises. The kind I actually intend to keep.
I missed the whole christmas and new year due to moving so it feels right to set some intention for the year and i've got a lot more but you know me and sharing my big plans haha so i'll let you into 2 little promises I plan to make with you for 2026.
Promise number 1:
Om & Away launches this year. 2026 is the year.
This is a lifestyle vlog Donnie and I are creating together. It’s about independents, culture, food, craft, yoga studios, wine bars, coffee shops and all the beautiful details that make places feel alive. We’re starting right here in York so you can see where we’ve landed and why, then taking it out into the world.
Think 48 hour stop offs. Real places. No influencers shouting into phones. Just soaking up cities, counties and countries through taste, sound, movement and presence. It feels very us and I’m excited in a way that doesn’t feel forced.
Promise number 2:
YouTube.
I’m moving from one YouTube video a week to two. These actually take a lot longer than I’d like to plan and film, but we’re nearly at one million views over there and it feels like a natural next step to increase the output.
So yes, you can expect to be spending a bit more time with my silly old bean head in the foreseeable future, starting next week.
And before I sign off, I just want to say thank you.
To everyone who’s watched, liked, subscribed, commented or shared anything I’ve put out this year. Anywhere. It genuinely helps me more than you’d ever think and I never take it for granted.
Thanks again.
Love
